Nordic Industries has been performing the following types of projects as a Prime contractor for over 30 years: earthmoving, flood protection, levee improvement, slurry cut-off walls, environmental mitigation, rock crushing, land grading, and other specialty projects.
Based in Olivehurst, California, we generally service the Sacramento Valley. However, we have performed major projects in Nevada, Arizona, Idaho, Utah, Colorado, Arizona, and New Mexico. Public projects have been completed for the: Bureau of Reclamation, Army Corps of Engineers, Federal Highway Administration, Sacramento Area Flood Control Agency, Los Angeles County, Three Rivers Levee Improvement Authority, and many other local agencies. Private customers include: Del Webb Development, Green Construction Company, Balfour Beatty Infrastructure, among others.
Our staff is comprised of experienced construction managers, field supervisors, and skilled equipment operators that have successfully taken on, and successfully completed, many difficult civil construction projects under some extremely tight scheduling restrictions.
We are accustomed to working in sensitive environmental environments. In addition to protecting endangered species that are present in, and around, many of our work sites we have performed several projects to create habitat for species such as the Giant Garter Snake and fish species. For example, many of our rock slope protection projects on the Sacramento River involve anchoring tree canopies and root wads in the riprap for fish habitat; and also involve planting trees and other plants in the upland areas of the project for wildlife habitat.
